A question from Asia about redness and rosacea.

hi Dr. Irwin, I'm 22 year-old female from Asia and i am having problems on my face that it has become red ever since i used wrong product when i was teenager probably about 6 to 7 years ago and now my facial pores tend to enlarge that gives me an embarrassing look. so i have red and enlarged facial pores. my dermatologist said this is a rosacea condition and he gave me only Clindoxyl gel but this doesnt seem to help with my redness at all so i would like to ask you if you have any good suggestions for my conditions. thanks in advance Leeza

If you are completely healthly, then you probably do have rosacea like your doctor diagnosed.  However, if you have any other symptoms like joint pain or swelling, hair loss, sores in your mouth, extreme fatigue, allergies, etc., please seek a second opinion from another dermatologist and perhaps request a biopsy.  There are a few rare conditions that sometimes mimic rosacea and you are quite young to have such severe rosacea.   Here are some other options for rosacea treatment if you need more information.  I hope this helps.  Dr. I

SkinTour Skincare
One of the best investments in your skin is your daily skincare. Why? Because you can prevent many problems with blotchy skin color, lack of glow, texture, some types of acne, and fine lines with good skincare products. You can also correct some of these problems with effective skincare products. Great skincare is often more expensive because quality ingredients are expensive. Some companies spend on research/development which benefits all of us and adds to the cost. Are they worth it? In general - yes! I have handpicked some of what I consider to be the best skin care products, and offer them for sale on SkinTour's shop. This is based on my team and I's testing and research at our clinic. Many of the products are in my own regimen. What could be better than using skin care products a dermatologist uses?!
