When fillers don’t seem to last as long as they should.
Glad you wrote – I think others have this concern. In my opinion, there truly are people who seem to metabolise the hyaluronic acid based fillers more quickly – but they are rare!
Usually, it’s that the dermatologist or nurse injector failed to educate a patient about how much it really takes to create a good base. After a really great base is created, then maintenance is usually once or twice a year.
Depending on your facial type, a good way to think about this is …..approximately one syringe per decade. This is true for Sculptra also. So… if you’re 53……a base would be about 5 syringes with probably about 2-3 annually after that. I would vote strongly for doing those 5 syringes in 2-3 sessions about 2-4 weeks apart. The quality of the work will be better.
Sculptra (but find an expert injector) is a good option for you, if you turn out to be that person who really does chew these up fast.
Hope this helps, Dr. I
