Why would Botox wear off quickly suddenly?

Dear Dr.I, Why would botox wear off in a month? I have done botox on my forehead and crows feet in the past and it lasts 3-5 months. I just had the squint lines (between the eyebrows and I realize my lines are back???? Why would it last such little time? Thank you

I’m glad you asked this because there are several different reasons.  I’m assuming you went to your usual doctor and that they are mixing the Botox the same way each time.  If the dilution were different, that could explain it.

If this was a new area for you, it’s more likely that it may have been underdosed.  If you have strong muscles there, you may just need more.  The muscles in different parts of the face require different amounts of Botox depending on the size of the muscle and how active they are.  For example, a man often requires 50-100% more Botox in his frown lines because the corrugator muscle is just larger.   Please call your doctor’s office.  They may ask you to come in so they can see the problem.   Dr. I

SkinTour Skincare
One of the best investments in your skin is your daily skincare. Why? Because you can prevent many problems with blotchy skin color, lack of glow, texture, some types of acne, and fine lines with good skincare products. You can also correct some of these problems with effective skincare products. Great skincare is often more expensive because quality ingredients are expensive. Some companies spend on research/development which benefits all of us and adds to the cost. Are they worth it? In general - yes! I have handpicked some of what I consider to be the best skin care products, and offer them for sale on SkinTour's shop. This is based on my team and I's testing and research at our clinic. Many of the products are in my own regimen. What could be better than using skin care products a dermatologist uses?!
